Playa Verde is the north-shore answer to "we want beach time but we don't want to spend half the day running." It is one of the first stops out of Marina Nuevo Vallarta heading up toward Punta Mita — quiet, uncrowded, and close enough that a 4-hour charter gives you real time in the water.
Close to the Marina, Far From the Crowds
Almost every boat that leaves Banderas Bay for the day turns south. Playa Verde is one of the reasons to turn north instead. It sits a short run up the Nayarit coast from Marina Nuevo Vallarta, which means less time under way and more time at anchor — a real advantage if you booked the 4-hour minimum and want to actually use it.
What the Stop Is Like
A long, quiet stretch of sand with low green vegetation behind it and gentle water in front. No village, no restaurant row, no line of tour boats. You anchor, you swim, you use the shade canopy, and you head back. Simple, and for a lot of groups exactly right.
When the North Shore Is the Better Call
Wind and swell do not hit both sides of the bay the same way. On days when the south shore is choppy, our captains will often point the boat north instead — Playa Verde, La Lancha and Punta Mita all sit on that side. That flexibility is one of the practical benefits of a private charter over a fixed tour: the route follows the conditions, not a printed schedule.

The water off the north shore fishes well, and rods and tackle are already on board — see fishing charters. In whale season, roughly December through March, the run north is as good as the run south for spotting humpbacks; see whale watching.
